Welcome to A Touch of Design

September 03, 2020

It is almost that time again, where the leaves and the temperature both start to...fall. See what I did there?

You might already be thinking about switching up your wardrobe and recipes for fall, but have you thought about how to change up your home décor? Keep reading for some simple swaps to help you transition from summer into autumn.

You don’t have to spend a lot of time or money to give your house a mini makeover for fall. Changing out your pillows or adding a chunky throw can transform the look of your furniture. Using seasonal flowers like sunflowers instead of your summer blooms, or adding in pumpkins or gourds for décor, are stylish switches.

Adding in rich colors and different textures throughout your home can give off a more seasonal look as well. Pack away your light and airy fabrics and instead opt for cozy knits, sleek velvet, and faux fur. Finally, adding in some decorative lanterns and yummy-smelling candles can complement a fall aesthetic and help tie everything together.
